Our Relief Philosophy & Method
RTDC is a small organization compared of many other relief efforts. Our focus is to our past students, their families and villages. We must work through trusted relationships with the local village pastors and leaders where our students live to provide urgently needed food and shelter, especially as the monsoon season comes in June. Our initial shelter plan was tarps, but we are now focusing on providing metal roofing that can be set up easily now, but used permanently later in the rebuilding of their homes. Metal is more expensive, but a better solution long term. We are in the ongoing effort to establish and maintain contact with our past students, many who are from the remote and most affected areas of the earthquake.
